Derek to build on Foundation
Derek Inman is set to spearhead the strategic growth and influence of the Birmingham Foundation, the largest locally based charity in the West Midlands.

Since the retirement of Harvey Mansfield, Derek has acted as the Foundation's interim chief executive. Derek formerly BT's head of UK Regions for Midlands, Wales
and the West, took early retirement in 2002 to pursue more volunteer roles and charitable work. Recent positions held include immediate past chairman of Birmingham Forward and chairman of the Birmingham & Solihull Learning Exchange.

"The Birmingham Foundation should be the charity of choice for business in Birmingham and the Black Country and I aim to highlight our achievements, strengthen our position and generate more support from all those in business... it is all about giving something back to Birmingham and the Black Country and I challenge
anybody who does not see the point in helping others to help themselves to revisit their mindset. This help makes the area a better place to work and a better place to enjoy. Above all it puts a smile on the faces of those thousands of people we reach!"
