2nd December 2010 - Christmas Celebration Concert
Our Christmas Celebration musical extravaganza will be performed by the Birmingham Philharmonic Concert Band and the Choir of St Peter's Collegiate Church (Wolverhampton) on Thursday 2nd December 8pm at Town Hall, Birmingham.
A rich, musical repertoire that includes pieces from the musical Les Miserables, the Glenn Miller in Concert arrangement and A white Christmas will be combined with favourite carols including 'O Come all ye faithful, Once in Royal David's City and Hark the Herald Angels sing and ending the concert with 'A Christmas Celebration!'
Held for the 7th year running to raise funds for local grassroots community projects within Birmingham and the Black Country, proceeds raised will help to support community centres, sports, youth and after school clubs, theatre groups, recycling schemes, orchestras, exercise classes for the elderly and much more.
Tickets: £12 (stalls), £15 (stalls) and £20 (circle)
(Plus a £2 fee per transaction for phone and online bookings)

24th October 2010 - EDF Energy Birmingham Half Marathon - Running to support local community projects
We are looking for volunteers who are willing and able to take part in the 2010 EDF Energy Birmingham Half Marathon which takes place on Sunday 24th October 2010.
The 2009 BCF team raised £4,000 which was immediately match funded via the Grassroots endowment match challenge bringing the total to £8,000 - a fantastic result!
Do you know someone who would like to run as part of the BCF team and raise much needed funds for local grassroots projects across Birmingham and the Black Country? If you do then to guarantee their place runners are required to register via the official website: http://birminghamhalfmarathon.com but then simply notify suzanne@bhamfoundation.co.uk or tenika@bhamfoundation.co.uk that you would like to run as part of the team and we can arrange to supply you with hard copy sponsorship forms and the link to the JustGiving online fundraising website.
The closing date for entries via the EDF Energy website is Friday 23rd September 2010

21st October 2010 - Call to Action at the Bar, Metro Bar & Grill
Our 4th Call to Action at the Bar event has now been confirmed as taking place on Thursday 21st October from 6-8pm at the Metro Bar & Grill on Cornwall Street, Birmingham.
Bar tenders will be announced shortly.
Beer Pump sponsorship opportunities are once again being made available; sponsors pay £100 in return for their company logo or name to appear on one of the 18 pumps situated across the bar.
All funds raised will go to support the work of the Birmingham Community Foundation; to help local people find local solutions to local needs across Birmingham and the Black Country.

3rd September 2010 - RLB Cycle Ride
This year Rider Levett Bucknall celebrates 225 years of providing property and construction consultancy to its clients.As part of these celebrations the company are cycling around the country between the various offices raising money for local charities along the way.
On September 3rd the Birmingham office are cycling down to Bristol, over 100 miles in support of local grassroots community projects within Birmingham and the Black Country through the Birmingham Community Foundation.
All the money raised will help local people find local solutions to local needs; targeting grants which will help to support community centres, sports, youth and after school clubs, theatre groups, recycling schemes, orchestras, exercise classes for the elderly and much more...

22nd June 2010 - City prepares to celebrate Centenary Birthday of Nechells Baths
One of Birmingham's most treasured landmark buildings is this year celebrating its 100th Anniversary with a series of activities that will highlight its remarkable heritage and showcase the contribution it makes to its local community.

27th May 2010 - Mills & Reeve given a new look with their fundraising make-over event!

On 27th May three members from top city law firm Mills & Reeve were treated to a make-over courtesy of Saks hair team, Clarins and House of Fraser. Almost £200 was raised for the Mills & Reeve endowment fund with the Birmingham Community Foundation.

Are you holding an event over the coming months - a Golf Day, Dinner, Coffee morning, Quiz night or simply a Dress down day - have your thought about raising money for local causes at your event?
There are many ways for you to give personally or through your company to support local causes and by raising funds at an event you already have planned you can help local grassroots projects now and in the future. You may even choose to take part in a sponsored event e.g. a fun run or the Birmingham EDF Energy Half Marathon and raise funds via sponsorship - whichever way you choose Make a Difference in 2010 and give something back to your local community through the Birmingham Community Foundation!

Join in the Big Culture Blog - Noon, Friday 23rd April - Noon, Saturday 24th April 2010.
All you need to do is send a quick email saying where you are from, where you are right now and what cultural activity you are doing to: blog@birminghamculture.org. The plan is to showcase how much goes on in our city - and how many people are involved.
People across the city are blogging at events held over the 24 hours to help Birmingham win its bid to tbe UK City of Culture in 2013.

24th March 2010 - Call to Action at the Bar!

Another successful evening was held at the Metro Bar & Grill on 24th March raising £979 - this will be doubled via the Grassroots endowment match challenge bringing the total to £1958! Thank you to all who took part and came along to support our trainee barmen!
Our thanks go to our trainee bar stewards for the evening: David Bucknall, Philip Calcutt, John Matthews, Graham Nicoll, John Nolan, Chris Tomlinson and Nick Westley-Smith who stepped forward to pull a few pints behind the bar at Metro Bar & Grill, to help raise funds for local disadvantaged communities...
