Real Help for Communities: Targeted Support Fund - NO LONGER TAKING APPLICATIONS
The Office of the Third Sector (OTS) launched the £42.5m Real Help for Communities: Charities, volunteers and Social Enterprises on 10th February 2009. This is a direct response to the challenges facing third sector organisations and communities across England as a result of the recession.
Birmingham Community Foundation has recently been appointed as the local administrator for the Targeted Support Fund in the Birmingham, Dudley and Walsall top-tier local authority areas.
Aims of the Programme:
The Targeted Support Fund aims to provide support to small, third sector, local service providers that are either facing an increased demand for their service, or require funding for key services that will help to sustain the quality of life in identified communities. The fund is aimed at those areas that are considered most at risk of increasing levels of deprivation as a result of the recession, and will prioritise those organisations that are offering services that specifically relate to needs resulting from the recession.
Projects should meet one or more of the following themes:
- Information, advice, and guidance (housing, financial, debt and legal advice and support)
- Employment and employability (training and support related to finding employment)
- Health and wellbeing (mental health, relationship breakdown, counselling, domestic violence and substance abuse)
